Ryptsjerk
Ryptsjerk, it's a village you will unlightly ever drive through. I would say it has no shops, but it has an italian wine and delicatessen called 'Vinoteca 'il Casale', 'De vertakking' which does garden rennovation and landscaping, country fairs and has a lifestyle shop... and then there is Florahoek, a fabulous garden center and Froukje State, a restaurant with a Michelin star! Does Ryptsjerk have a supermarket? A population of more than an 1000? No!
But it is imo a great place for going for a walk over the country lanes. Ryptsjerk is to be honest one of my fave villages in North east Fryslan.

Dusk in Gytsjerkerhoek III
We were kind of promised a spectacular sunset here yesterday. The reason is there has been a massive volcanic explosion in Iceland. It is the reason that most airports in Northern Europe are closed for a few days. Anyway the sunset wasn't that amazing, but I still got quite a few good photo's including this one :)

Flokhernepaed bij Mûnein
Partly covered by Google streetview using the Google street view bike :) This is part of what it missed. Mûnein (known as Molenend in dutch) is a 'buurtschap' or locality near the villages of Gytjerk and Oentsjerk
It's really busy on saturday night at the chinese restaurant in Gytsjerk
Not an amazing photo... but what makes me laugh is how busy it is here on saturday night! The place was packed!
